Diving & Sight-seeing Tours
Morning – dive 1:
The boat departs Tutukaka Marina at approx 8.30am and aims to be at the Poor Knights before all other boats to secure the best dive sites of the day!!
Once a safe dive site has been found the crew on board Knight Diver will assist you in gearing up for your first dive which of course will be a truly magical experience!! All dives are fully guided by our fully qualified and knowledgeable dive instructor who has alot of experience diving the Poor Knights.
Midday – lunch, eco-tour, snorkel & kayak
After this first dive your skipper will make a nice hot coffee/tea or soup to warm you up ready for a tour of the Islands where you are able to view the wonderful volcanic rock formations and the many arches, tunnels and caves with native trees and plants clinging to the rock faces. A stop is then made to enable you to have lunch and a snorkel or kayak if desired.
Afternoon – dive 2, eco-tour
Then on to the next dive site for the second dive where again the crew will assist everyone to get all gear on and in the water again to experience the best diving the Poor Knights has to offer. After the second dive feel free to have a hot shower and again a hot drink to warm those bones ready for the trip back to Tutukaka. We trust you would have had an awesome day enjoying one of the Worlds top dive locations!!
Travelling across to and from the Poor Knights Islands on “Knight Diver” from Tutukaka we often encounter little blue penguins, various species of whales on their annual migrations, pods of playful dolphins, pods of orca, sunfish and many different seabirds including gannets and shearwater, large schools of pelagic fish including kingfish, trevally, tuna and even the odd marlin.
Snorkelling & Sightseeing – Not a Diver?
Snorkellers and sightseers are welcome or we have a “First time” dive or “Resort Dive” for those wishing to experience the magic of diving for the first time with fully guided expert supervision with a qualified instructor. For more information on this please email us and we can explain in detail what happens.
